Inside the first layout....
On the left is a mirrored belly band holding the special MIRROR MESSAGES packet.
I just love the way this found scarf and beading encircles our first image. The netting is over 100 years old, dated 1919 from a milliner's estate. The ends of the scarf are bound by a Tribal bell.
Second layout....
Left side is a deep pocket of embroidered sheer fabric, surrounded by lovely black flower lace. One of the six journals slides inside.
On the right...this image, printed on cotton, and a lovely (repurposed) feathered earring, secured by a thick fabric rose. Also is a smaller pocket with tags inside.
Next spread....
I love the look in her eyes....and the little mirror seemed perfect replacing her crystal ball. More vintage milliner netting too. The trim across the bottom also serves as a mini tuck spot.
On the right is a sequin netted lace trim, with a beaded pompom in the middle. Note a deep side pocket on the right.
I found the special spot for this belly dancer's bracelet...love the sound! Vintage lace netting makes a perfect see-through pocket.
A Gypsy with attitude! Vintage lace netting, sequined appliqué, pieces from a black stone necklace, and hand painted lace trim.
Next spread.... two belly bands with journals tucked inside.
This flower appliqué is made with many elements. Vintage doily, hand painted Venise lace, needle felted leaves, milliner's netting, and an exquisite Czech glass button.
Closeup of the many layered flower....
This spread sports both a belly band and deep pocket....
Note the tribal charm tied on with a scrap of silk Kantha cloth. You'll see more Kantha cloth on the last spread.
More Kantha cloth and Tribal embellishments.
