I'm back to creating with laces. This is a 'crossover' journal, both laces and papers...and a bit of fabric. Most of the laces are antiques, and the 2" button is definitely very old! The inside is lined with fabric. The one signature journal is mounted on a hidden spine. The signature is in a 'waterfall' style. As you open the book, the narrowest pages are towards the front, water-falling towards the center where the widest pages are. Beautiful writing/journaling pages are between each of the segments...the writing pages are a nice 32# presentation paper, lined with a light lace background.
You'll find five beautifully embellished envelopes full of journaling papers, and bits of offcuts of the lacy paper, and some lace too. There are 24 decorated tags tucked in here and there.
The closure is a wraparound Sari silk ribbon, fastened by a beautiful appliqué on the inside. The Sari silk wraps around the journal, creating a beautiful bundle look, and is secured by the beautiful vintage button. The button is possibly antique. Not sure if it is amber, but it does have a metal shank.
